It's Coming Together!

I'm so excited to introduce you to our new couch! We have this odd shaped living room and needed a large sectional to complete the space and I finally found one that fits, was in our budget, and the right style. Thanks to a little Craigslist hunting this beauty was available from a couple relocating and it's only 6 months old and was 1/2 of what we were quoted to have one custom built. They also had the bookcase I wanted from IKEA so I picked that up too. I am addicted to CL and it's hard to find something in my house that's NOT from CL!!!! Now all we need is a dresser for the Nursery and we are done with the big furniture purchases, WOO-HOO! O and we need to hang the TV over the fireplace too, Gus reminds me of that daily  :)

Can't wait to have you all over soon, now I just need to work on the backyard... pool parties coming soon!

Hello weekend, I have been waiting for you!!!

Work drags along each day and yet week by week Saturday still rolls around, and I greet thee with a HUGE hello and smile on my face. I am living for the weekends these days, dealing with the chinese water torture that is my work I count down the days, hours, minutes until I get to sleep in, see my friends, and not deal with the Monday - Friday hell that is my job.

This past weekend was so great and eventful that I only took ONE PICTURE!!! And can you believe it was of the twins?!?!? HAHAHA! Friday we went out to dinner with the Lawrence’s and then to Bigs for some laughter with the Pi boys.

Saturday was super busy! Brunch with the Cooking Club at Bianca’s had us delighting in Crème Brule French Toast (happy baby in the tummy) and catching up with good friends on the rooftop deck in Long Beach. I had to head straight out to Tustin for an old coworker from Chilis baby shower to welcome baby Blake to the Meller family in a few weeks. It was so much fun to catch up with the gals that I used to bartend with and see how much our lives have changed since our late nights and Vegas trips with the Chiliheads.   I am so happy that we have kept in touch and even though it may only be 2 times a year, we still delight in seeing each other and reminiscing over the good ole days.

Sunday was the absolute BEST day of them all tho! After a walk to Starbucks for a decaf latte I got to spend the entire day in my swimsuit by the pool…..insert ahhhhhs here. Gus and I spent the day together outside reading, eating, and enjoying the sunny weather. We tried to go in the pool when it got hot, but it felt like a million ice cubes stinging my feet so that idea ended real quick! We ended the evening with leftover pasta and “The Ugly Truth” (very funny I highly recommend). So here is the only picture from what I deemed a FABULOUS weekend!

Well if you haven't heard.....

Gus and I are expecting our little Bean in late October.  We are officially 9 weeks along and thot it was time to spread the news to you all.  We got to see the baby this morning and all is well, little heart beating very fast and growing right on schedule. 

I am feeling really good minus the extreme tiredness.  It hits me in the afternoon and it basically feels like an elephant is sitting on my chest, so that's no so fun.  If I rest for about 15 minutes it goes away and I can make it thru the rest of my day until I get home and plop on the couch at night.  Other than that I feel really good, no morning sickness yet, keep your fingers crossed that it stays away for the next 7 months  ;)

A Party For 2!

Saturday we celebrated Van's 3rd Birthday and his cousin Audrey's 1st birthday!  Van got a wonderful gift for his 2nd birthday last year, his new cousin Audrey!  So from here on out looks like lots of double parties with the fam!  We had the taco guy there (YUMMMMM) and lots of candy and bubbles in the yard.  Doc's birthday is Tuesday so we wished him a happy 35th too [in case you don't know Mike and Doc are my cousins and Gus' best friends, we met thru them].  

Van got a new bike and helmet from Mike and April, he had the cutest expression of surprise when they rolled it out but I was behind him so I missed the picture but here are some party pics!

Aunt Mary Kay blew us away again this year with all the cakes she made.  She is SOOOOO talented, she made Van's chocolate lolly pop cake (lollys are vans 2nd fave candy, gum balls are #1) Audrey's small white cake, a larger carrot cake AND a cheesecake from scratch.  As you can see we had to have some of all FOUR!!!

A cold has struck our house...

On top of already not feeling well Gus brought home a little cold the other day!  He normally is a baby when he's sick but he's pulling it together this time around, he even made dinner the last 3 nights in a row, AND DID THE CLEANUP!  love him <3 

I HATE being sick, and being sick on top of that.  The thing that really sucks is I'm not sick enough to stay home from work!  This is gonna be one of those lingering colds with lots of sneezes and headaches, BOOOOOOOOOO!  My baby Jordan is keeping me comfy, everyday after work when I get home she crawls up on my tummy and keeps me warm for a good late evening nap.  Love that baby!  I have officially figured out she is going to be traumatized when a baby shows up, she already hates hearing them cry on tv, hahaha, we are in for it!
