Fireman Vincents 3rd Birthday

Becky did an amazing job organizing Vincent's 3rd birthday party! Saturday morning we headed over to the Calagna Fire Station for a pancake breakfast, a visit from the fire truck, games, activities and more! Tay had a really fun time running up and down the street, but when the truck showed up he got a little scared so in the ergo he went. Thank you for the wonderful party, we had a great time celebrating!

Holly's December Wish Finally Came True....

I got so see it "snow" on Main Street! I have been asking Gus to take me to see the "snow" at Disneyland for a few years now and after we had pics with Santa we cruised on down to Disney to ride Small World, see the parade and enjoy the "snow". If you've ever seen it, you will understand why I say "snow" ...it was bubbles. Great effect, great idea, good execution, false advertising :(. We still had a really good time together in the cold, can't wait to go back and see the fireworks show!

Kaylee's 3rd Birthday

After arriving home from San Diego we had a quick visit with Maiza and her girls and then we were off to The Santa Ana Zoo for Kaylee’s 3rd birthday! We had never been there before so it was really fun to see how beautiful it was and all the fun activities for kids. When Tay’s a little older we will go back and do the rides etc but for now he loved walking around and playing with all the kids! He fell once in the dirt and got his 1st scrapes on his knees, Gus said “First of many, now he’s a real boy!”

Thanksgiving 2011

We had a great get away in San Diego for Thanksgiving! It started out really rough on the car ride down with Tay getting really sick, we aren’t sure if he had the flu or if he was carsick but it wasn’t pretty. Thursday we got off to a slow start and cooked and set the table and then ate ate ate! Tay had a tray full of food and didn’t eat 1 bite, I knew he didn’t feel good :(. That evening we played Sequence and Gus and I LOST but lots of laughs were had by all. Friday was a lazy day with a walk on the trail and then we went out with Ray and Christi that night to the Gas Lamp district for some dancing! Saturday we celebrated my Dad’s 65th birthday by taking a family trip to Costco (uh huh – that’s what we did) and then home for chili dogs and Oscar (our favorite movie!). It was so much fen to just relax and hang out with the family, give thanks for all our blessings and celebrate my dad!

Friday Night the boys were bringing in a new mattress set for my parent’s house and this happened –

That’s right, a mattress slide!  Tay LOVED it, after we each had a turn (that was SO much fun BTW) we let the kids go over and over.  Tay kept crawling back up the mattresses like Ryle to go again.  As you can see he decided he wanted to do that by himself and got about ½ way up with no one looking.   Little Stinker – now you know why I call him “StinkBug” he’s gonna be flying off roof tops just like his daddy very soon I predict!

Our Little Man's 1st Birthday Party!!!

We celebrated Taylor’s 1st birthday with a bash, a STACHE BASH that is! We had about 100 of our closest friends and families come join us in our new home to wish our Little Man a very happy 1st birthday, that’s right – 100, I know I’m nuts! A huge thank you goes out to Rebecca Calagna for the invites and party design, Kevin Yarnell Photography for capturing the day on film, Tom’s Tailgate for the delicious Taco Bar, My Aunt Mary Kay for the amazing cake, and all the hands that helped me prepare every tiny detail for the past 2 months! We are so blessed by our Son and I couldn’t have asked for a better day to celebrate how much joy he brings to our lives, thank you to each and every person came and helped make the day so much fun!!!

Now what to do next year…

Brutus Boy

Mom and Dad had to say goodbye to our dear friend Brutus this week. He was the best dog and I wish I could have had many many more days with him. He’s one of the only dogs I was truly in love with and I will miss him terribly.  Tay got to spend the weekend with Brutus while we were in Solvang and they played King of the Hill, went on a walk, hugged, and Tay learned to say "dog".  He will forever be missed.


A note from my Dad - It is with a sad heart to let all our friend know that today we had to put our boxer dog, Brutus, to sleep. Although only 5 1/2 years old, he had a heart problem and medication was of no help. In the last 36 hours of his life he collapsed 7 times resulting from extreme low blood pressure. He was a true blessing to us and to many of you too. Brutus loved everybody he met and they all loved him in return. We shall miss our boy . . . . . . . .

Solvang

We had a great weekend in Solvang for Mike’s 30th! We doubled our trip as a mommy and daddy weekend away and we had a really good time! We had a limo bus for wine tasting, a really comfy hotel room with a fireplace and good food with new friends. Here are some shots of our antics!

Noah's Ark

Sunday Mom and Dad were in town watching the Martinez Boys and Mom found the Skirball Cultural Center online and thought it would be a great family outing for us all! They have this amazing Noah’s Ark exhibit which is Biblically correct and interactive for kids. It was so much fun, Ryle ran around and climbed all the netting and Tay just walked in circles playing with anything he could get his hands on. Thank goodness it was not crowded so he could walk with little interruption. He loved playing in the eating area with all the “food”. They had a story time and Ryle loved making all the animal sounds and Tay was really interested too, as long as he could stand there, not be held. Little Stinker (o and he got to ride facing forward AND watch a movie in the car, big boy!!!!) We had a wonderful day with the family as well as experiencing the exhibit, thanks Mom and Dad!  For more info go here!

 

 

 

Cousins

Ryle came to spend the night Thursday and we had a great time! Tay got to have his 1st slice of pizza, drive around in his car with a passenger, have a slumber party in his room and visit Ryle’s school Friday morning! Can’t wait for many many more nights like this!

YUM YUM!!!

We headed to Heroes last night with the Fausts and Ray and Fam to have Tay's birthday dinner. After dinner Tay got his 1st bite of sweets- needless to say Tay loved cake, loved, loved, loved it! He dug right in and kept on going until we finally said no more, then he was so mad! My brother said he would be up all night with the sugar rush, but since he decided to only take a 1 hour nap during the day, he concked right out as soon as we got him out of the bath! We had a great day celebrating our little man!

 

Birthday Boy

I can’t believe this day has arrived, my baby boy is ONE!!! I got up and made banana muffins so we could sing to the boy and let him blow out a candle 1st thing this morning. Daddy surprised Tay (and Mommy) by staying up late and blowing up balloons to fill Tay’s floor with. We sang, gave lots of hugs and kisses and then headed off to work! Can’t wait for all the festivities over the next couple days!
