We got to….

We finally got our Disneyland passes! I am so so so excited!!! Wendy and I have been talking about getting our passes for 2 years and we FINALLY did it! Gus wasn’t raised going to Dland like we were so he was never too enthused but this year he is actually really excited. Saturday morning I woke up and looked outside at 6am and decided that I wanted to go and that was that! We went around 5pm to get our passes all set up and have dinner. It started to sprinkle a bit at dinner so we headed on out and it took all my energy not to go back Sunday morning!

While I fed Tay (and took care of a major blowout and being spit up on) Gus and W2 went on Buzz Lightyear and Gus sent me this hilarious pic. The funniest part is he had NO clue that they were taking pics, this was not posed, he was serious!!

San Diego Fun!

Last weekend we packed up the car and headed south to Mom and Dad’s for a relaxing weekend away in San Diego! We drove out Friday night and got to have a very lazy day Saturday watching movies and eating yummy yummy food. We finally saw the Social Network and RED, both very good for a lazy day.  Taylor showed all his best tricks to Grandma and Grandpa and loved playing with Brutus. Saturday night Gus and I stepped out in style and went to dinner with Mike and Ash and even went to a dive bar after! I only lasted till about 10 pm before I was almost falling asleep at the table and we trotted on home. Sunday we went to Urban Spoon for brunch with mom, dad, Mike and Ash, it was SOOOO yummy! I had Eggaroni, breakfast mac and cheese, how can you go wrong with that? We had such a lazy weekend that I forgot to take lots of pics so here are a few from brunch. We had a wonderful weekend and can’t wait to do it again!

Dinner

We had a rough night last night. When Tay doesn't feel good he refuses to eat, which is exactly what happened at 6 yesterday. His tummy was bothering him so after a little battle I got him calmed down and all he wanted was this little toy. What is so funny to me is that this thing freaked him out about a week ago and now it's all he wants. He got it up to his mouth and nibbled on the ear till it was sopping wet. It was so cute I had to snap 50 pics and even take some video.   I think teeth are on their way!

 

Bringing Home the Bacon

Tay and I hanging out at work! He rotates from the swing, to the bouncer to the playmat for his awake time and he LOVES it! He is such a good baby that he just chills out with me and I can get my projects done. I LOVE having him with me!

 

Elated

Tomorrow morning marks my new favorite day.  It will be the 1^st day Taylor gets to come to work with me until he is 18 months old.  I can’t begin to describe the feelings of excitement, relief and joy that are running thru my veins right now.  I have always known that my life’s purpose was to be a stay at home mom but unfortunately my expenses, bank account and So Cali location doesn’t grant me this honor yet.  I look in my son’s eyes and I just KNOW that raising him each and every day completely fulfills me to my core.  I have been blessed with a wonderful job with amazing benefits that is way too hard to walk away from.  Especially when they keep throwing things at me that make it harder and harder to say “no.”  Tomorrow for instance….

My company runs private schools servicing families with children 6 weeks – 8^th grade on 8 different campuses.  Taylor has had the blessing of being cared for at our Brea campus for the past month.  He loves all his teachers and is doing really well there minus the constant cold.  He has been sick since his 2^nd week there and we just can’t kick it.  I know you daycare mommies know what I am talking about.  Three weeks ago my boss came to me with a proposition, how would I feel about having Taylor in the SAME building as me?!?!?!  UH YES, TWIST MY ARM!!!!!  So the stage was set, we were going to transform the conference room into a daycare room and hire a daycare worker to care for Tay for a month until the 2^nd office baby would be arriving (miss Adel now 2 weeks old) in March.  

As my excitement grew the process slowed and the scene wasn’t really being set.  As I drove my son to school yesterday and he was coughing SO hard that the only thing that calmed him was holding my hand I knew I would be leaving work early to pick him up.  That triggered a thot- Taylor has been sick for a month, and if he continues on this path he will be sick for another month.  Meaning when I bring him to the office he will just get little miss Adel sick.  Being a little selfish as well as not wanting to put any other mother thru a babies 1^st cold at 6 weeks I approached my boss.

“UM are we still planning in doing this?”

I lit a little fire, and it sent them running.  I lightly hinted to her that my son is sick and he will need at least 2 weeks to get well before he is in the same room with miss Adel (who is her granddaughter btw) or he will get her sick.  Two hours later I has the green light to bring him to work with me “full speed ahead.”  So tomorrow I will haul all my gear, and my son to work with me.  I will get the opportunity to pick out a ton of new gear for him over the next few days but for now I will take what I have to entertain him.  I will be watching him for the next month at the minimum until we reassess having a day care worker there.  And that means NO MORE PUMPING!!!  Thank goodness, I don’t think my freezer can take any more :)

Well that’s my big news and I am elated!!!!

Gus Got His Bootie Kicked.....

I had to break the sad news to my hubby that Taylor TOTALLY beat him out for the best V-Day gift, and he agreed.....

When I picked him up from daycare they had this and a little box of chocolates for me, I just LOVE that tiny little hand!

Saying "I Love Us"

There is a Hallmark commercial playing right now for Valentine’s day saying take the time to say “I love us” this Valentine’s day and it really hit home with me.  That is exactly what I wanted to say to my wonderful hubby to honor the love we share.  Gus and I celebrated Valentines a little early since our weekdays are so hectic with work; we decided to have our special dinner Sunday night. I set the table with a few fun things and we enjoyed some yummy filets. We shared a very special bottle of wine that we have been saving for 2 years from Cougar Winery in Temecula; it was WONDERFUL with the steak!  Thank you to my amazing husband who inspires me to be a better wife, mother, and friend each and every day, I love you! 

This morning Taylor got his awesome Valentines outfit on and we sent him off to school for a fun day with all his friends. He is still a little sick so I am hoping that his wonderful little friends stay the heck away from him so he can get better!

Gus surprised me with Wendy's help with this beautiful necklace from Stella & Dot and I am rocking it today! I have gotten so many compliments; I can’t wait to find more fun outfits and occasions to wear it to!

Wendy's 35th!

This month we celebrated Wendy’s 35th birthday at Melting Pot with her family! We had a private room and some really yummy food. I LOVE LOVE LOVE their cheese and chocolate and I can’t wait to go again. Taylor stayed home with Grandma and Grandpa so we got to have a hot night out, thank you! We had such an amazing time of laughter, fellowship and magic. Roy did a few tricks for us and he got Gus pretty good on a few of them. ~Wendy I wish you an amazing year, you are such a wonderful friend and you show me the power of strength, patience and love every day. I am so unbelievably blessed to have you in my life, thank you for being a wonderful friend for the past “30” years! We love you!

 

February Fun!

Saturday we had a birthday for our little friend Tyler and I just had to take this picture of Gus and Taylor. I loved that he picked out a little spot away from everybody to give Tay a bottle, love that man!

 

I am kicking my own bootie to get back to working out again so this weekend I crawled back on the treadmill and boy am I outta condition!  I need to get back to my old stamina of 4 miles in 40 minutes, I only got to 2 in 30, YIKES!  It will take some time but I will gat back up there!  Tay played in his playmat and was laughing at me while I was running-thanks son, thanks.

Our Girls

Everyone asks me how the cats are with Taylor and they are amazing! We love our twins so much and are still amazed by the funny things they do every day. Last week I was watching "Eight Below" [an amazing movie btw, I LOVE it] and the twins were mesmerized by the doggies! They watched almost the whole thing with me and every time the dogs came on the screen they ran to the tv and followed their every move. We love our baby girls!

and JoJo still likes to sit next to me in the boppy, she's a funny girl!

Forgetfulness

I’ve got it ~ FORGETFULNESS.

When we leave the house in the morning I gather my purse, diaper bag, pump, lunch, Tay’s school bag, car seat, kid and head out the door. It’s hilarious and our neighbors must laugh when they see Gus and I romp out at 7 am in the cold with all our stuff. I think they find it even funnier when at least once a week about 15 minutes later I trek back thru the door for something I forgot. One morning I got all the way to school and realized I didn’t have Taylor’s milk and it’s not like I could go to the store and buy some so we had to trek back home and pick it up. I was only an hour late for work that day! Monday I forgot my cell phone, Gus called the school to tell them to get the message to me but I had figured it out before that and went back for it, only 30 minutes late that day. Thank goodness I am an exempt employee and don’t have an official start time so no one is really slapping my hand on these random hours I am keeping. When I got home last night I found this posted over my daily heater reminder (which was created when I left the heater on all day one time and paid for that-literally):

 

That’s my new list my Hubby created for me so I won’t have all these fuel wasting trips back and forth once a week. I love him, he makes me laugh every day. This morning as I gathered my crap (my loving term for my entourage of supplies) he said to me “did you check your list?” and as I walked thru the door I actually did and giggled. He’s a genius!

Mornings

We have a "morning person" in our family- can you tell who it is?!?!?! Tay wakes up with a huge smile on his face and most of these are at 6am, he's such a happy kid.  After diaper change we go in to my room to say morning to daddy and Tay loves to get in bed with Gus and tell him all about the dreams he had thru the night while he was sleeping.  His smiles start my day off RIGHT (well, that and coffee ~ lets face it I get up at 430am!)

Hands

Taylor found his hands! Last week he started putting them together and feeling around and now he looks down at them and feels each finger at once. It’s the cutest thing ever! I am obsessed with watching him play with his fingers and seeing his brain processing the smallest details. He now reaches out for toys and can pull them to his mouth, I could watch him all day!

January Cuteness

Our January was filled with lots of fun memories. Now that Taylor goes to school I get to dress him in all his stylin clothes every day, well in actuality Gus picks his clothes out most mornings while I am getting ready. How can I not take a picture of him in his duds?!?! You gals would be proud of me, I haven't repeated an outfit for school yet, yep we have SO many things to choose from and I am so grateful. Tay has battled 2 colds now and outgrew his 0-3, squeezes into 3’s and really fits into 3-6’s. I’m amazed at how fast he is growing. Monday the 31st he weighed 13 lbs 12.5 oz at the Dr.’s office, what a chunk! Here are some fun shots from Tay’s paparazzi - his mother!

January Birthdays

In January we celebrated my Mom and Ryle's birthdays!  We had dinner and lots of cake at Ray's to celebrate mom truning ^(    [CODE to protect the innocent hahaha]  and Ryle turning 3.  Happy Birthday to my loves!
