Girl's Breakfast!

The Girls (yes Cait we are grown up girls!) came by for breakfast last weekend for some great food and lots of laughs! I stole pics from Becky -she was there but didn't land in front of the camera! Tay loved flirting with Bianca and stealing her food, little stinker! Can't wait to see you all again soon!

Small World

Trying to walk this baby outta me we headed to Dland last night and ate dinner and rode ONE ride!  It's ok because it was a great ride with Tay's new favorite thing "Chri is liiiiites!"  He calls the ones outside the house Daddy's Christmas lights, inside and the backyard are Mommy's and last night he got to see Mickey's!  He was so enthused that they were Mickey's, and pointed out all the colors to us.  We also got to see a bit of the Candlelight Processional  and I really want to go back to see more, it was so amazingly beautiful!

Vincent is 4!

We had a blast at Vincent's 4th birthday party! Thanks a MILLION to Becky for another fabulous party and to Miss Beau for taking my munchkin under your arm and playing with him all day. He LOVED the car on the hill track and throwing a blue balloon up up and up!  It feels like last month I was visiting Beck in the hospital (bringing her wine of course) and holding little V for the 1st time, man time has flown by!  Love you lots Calagna's!

 

 

 

Noelle's Nursery

Well I wouldn't say it's "done" but it's ready for her!  I had to try the panorama feature on my cell to capture the whole thing, you get the idea...

The shadow box has one of my mom's outfits from the 40's and the background is the blanket she brought me home from the hospital in.

My kids little Library!  Tay loves to go in her room and lay on the floor and read books.  The alarm clock is only temporary...

The jam packed dresser/changing station!  The bassinet is only temporarily there too...

Our family bassinet that we have used for our entire Shafer family!  Tay was in it {here}and now it's all ready and girly for Noelle!

I LOVE her crib set!  The skirt is the prettiest part but it won't be in full effect until we drop the crib and can fluff it out, its a pink satin bubble!

Family Night

We had one of the BEST nights at CA Adventure together last night! We took Tay to see the Aladdin live stage show and he absolutely LOVED every minute of it (all 45 of them!) He clapped and yelled “YAY!!” after each song and asked for more! When the stage opened up to reveal sets he looked at me and said “WOW!!” It was the cutest thing we have ever seen. After a super yummy corndog for mommy we hit up Midway Mania (Tay’s 1st time) and he laughed at the flying balls and rings as we whipped around the ride. As we cruised out we caught the World of Color show and the fireworks! He was so wiped out by the time we got home and put him to bed but he had the cutest smile on his face. I love our family time together, if this baby is still cooking we are heading back next Monday!

 

2012 Ornaments

Continuing our family tradition I'd like to introduce you to our ornaments this year! I don't get to set up my giant tree; mainly because Gus doesn't want to take it down (lol) so I am doing a simple strand of garland again to get the festivities rolling.  Tay picked out a Lightning McQueen ornament and so far Gus and I added our DC ornament to our bunch.  I still need one for Miss Noelle, on the hunt for that!  Tay loves the "chri-mis liiiites" and he giggled while putting his ornament up.  Can't wait for more fun Christmas traditions with my family!

Thanksgiving Weekend 2012

We had a very mellow and relaxing Thanksgiving with lots of family and friends!  Thanksgiving Day we went to the Drake's house and had a wonderful meal and then headed home to get Tay and I on the road to San Diego.  Gus had to work all week so he stayed home and worked on the house while we ventured to see the Martinez Fam.  Tay looked SO cute on Thanksgiving Day but he wouldn't take a picture with his fedora on, little stinker!

Meet Miss Sasha!  My mom and dad got a new 19 month old boxer and she is the sweetest thing!  Tay was hesitant at 1st but she grew on him.  He loves her and asked for her 1st thing each morning.  She thinks she is a lap dog as you can see when she decided to take a nap on my belly.  She's a cuddler, we welcome her into our crazy clan with open arms, she fits right in!

We had a great couple days lazing around and visiting with ALL our AZ families and cousins.  Tay played and played till he conked out each day.  Sunday we headed to Grandma Nikki's house to hang out with the Lombardo family a bit before they headed home as well.  Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend, we are so blessed by each and every one of our friends and family and we are SO thankful for all of you!

Ribbon Board

I am not a crafty person so my addiction to Pinterest is pretty ironic really. Cruising the girly things for the past 6 months has brought me to some fun inspiration (and yummy recipes might I add.) Now I have to admit I have a little obsession – bows, flowers, and all sort of hair things and a huge jar just wasn't holding it all. So I combined a few pins, got some tips from a friend who is a crafty blogger at Our Fifth House and set out to create Noelle's ribbon board.

The Inspiration:

I doodled out a plan and gathered my items.  I had this HUGE frame from the old condo that I saved just for something special.  I was hesitant because it is SO big, but I love that it is now a statement piece in her room.

Thank goodness for my hubby who helped me with almost everything, I had the vision and he executed most of it.  Being 9 months prego I couldn't spray paint, bend over the floor, twist hooks (that’s more of a girly wimpy hands thing) and so on.  I measured, made marks gathered supplies (shopping – I can DO that!) and we started off on our project!  Gus pray painted the hooks, helped staple ribbon, glued scrapbook paper to the canvas and lined up her "N" perfectly.

And here is the final result on Noelle’s wall, I LOVE it!  

 

Discovery Science Center Pumpkin Launch

A typical Friday evening I am on my cell searching for "things to do in SoCal this weekend" and I came across the Discovery Science Centers Annual Pumpkin Launch at CSUF this past weekend!  We had nothing on the books so after a YUMMY brunch together we headed over just in time to see the pumpkins start flying.  It was so much fun to see the 18 contestants and their catapults launch them across the intramural fields.  There were 3  distance levels and 5 rounds for points.  A 9th grader was shooting them the farthest and the engineering students from Chapman could barely get them off the tee.  As Gus says - don't over think it!  Tay cheered for each launch and then said "MORE PUMPKINS!"  By round 3 he was over it and we headed home for naps.  Next year we will sign him up for all the fun experiments they had for the kids, this is such a cool family (FREE) event, a Lombardo tradition for sure!

 

 

Nolan's 1st Birthday

Egg's and Aubrie's little Nolan is 1! The party was so much fun, I got to chat up all the gals, Gus hung out with his friends and Tay got sweets and spent the day in the bouncer. What more could we ask for? Happy 1st Nolan!

 

Family Fun Night

We had another wonderful evening together exploring Disneyland!  This is my favorite time of year because we can go there and ride 5-6 rides and be home before bedtime.  Tay is tall enough now to go on Gadgets Roller Coaster so Gus took him on it and took a video of it, sorry its small and dark - you get the picture.  His face goes from excited to scared to saying "all done now!"  After Buzz Tay picked out a gun that looks just like the ride and shoots darts, we couldn't resist :)

Halloween 2012

We had a very fun and mellow Halloween! I made homemade soup and cornbread for my men and then we headed over to The Joy's for trick or treating. Their neighborhood goes all out and gives out all sorts of fun things like balloons, glow sticks and juice boxes. Tay loved going to every door and said thank you to everyone. He loved riding in the wagon and by the end of the night both Kaylee and Tay were in there all tuckered out. I spent the evening with Dylon so Krista could trick or treat with the kids, he is such a snuggle bug! Taylor decided he wanted to eat all his lollipops and kept opening them and sticking them in his mouth, the candy craze has begun! Hope you all had a fun evening!

Bubble Mania!

We had so much fun celebrating Tay’s birthday with a Bubble Party!  We started the day with a special Birthday cupcake (yes for breakfast) and then we headed to the train station to pick up Grandma.  Tay had a great time seeing the choo-choo’s and then we were off to run errands and set up.  Bubblemania came to entertain all the munchkins with HUGE bubble wands in all sorts of fun shapes.  Aunt Mary Kay outdid herself once again making the most adorable and delicious cake for Tay.  The Pickle got so many wonderful presents, we can’t begin to say thank you to all our friends and family who came to celebrate our boy and spoil him like crazy!  Thanks for a wonderful day together, happy 2^nd birthday to my wonderful little man!
