Ears

For our Workout Wednesday Wendy and I decided to head to Disneyland to take a few laps around the park together! It was a pretty crowded day so we couldn’t walk as fast as we needed to but we had a nice stroll thru a few lands. The Tater had a few 1^sts to add to his June list: he got his 1st pair of Mickey Ears, got to eat in his stroller, cruised around in the Ergo for a long time and saw his 1st parade!  I am obsessed with his new ears, they are adorable!!! It was a quick trip around the park and home again but I had a great time catching up with W, love you bunches friend!

Family Fun!

Saturday afternoon Mom brought over the AZ nieces and nephews to swim and have a family bbq! Ray and family joined us (Dad too) and we swam, played the wii and had a fun time laughing and playing with all the kiddos. Tay loved floating with his cousins and laughing when Brutus was licking Daddy’s face. My favorite picture of the day is the one in the middle, all the men in the living room together; I love that couch and the open space it creates so we can all be together. We had a wonderful day and were truly blessed to spend the day with our family.

 

Sunday for Father’s Day we headed to DT Brea for the car show and lunch with the family. Silvia joined us to celebrate Gus and spend some time with the Tater. We had a yummy lunch at Yardhouse and then walked the show.  Gus loved his Ipod cover (and mine too) and said "you did it again!" meaning I got him something he loves that he would have never thot of hahaha.  When we got home Tay went down for a nap and woke up with a fever of 103 so our evening plans were shot and we spent the night trying to get that boy better. By Monday it was down to 102 and nothing since…I’m blaming the teeth. Hopefully this will pass soon; my little man is not liking this at all! And let’s just say Mommy and Daddy aren’t too fond of it either.

Swim Lessons

This summer we decided as a family outing on Saturdays to do swim lessons at CSUF. 

We headed out to campus and memories flooded back as we drove thru and I pointed out all the places that sparked funny memories from o so long ago.  Tay’s class is small and really more of an open swim with instructors in the water to come by for some one on one instruction.  Since he is so young it’s more of an intro to water and teach us how to play with him and he loved it, well he didn’t cry so that’s a bonus.  He floated on the turtle kick boards and by the end he was swishing his arm in the water, Gus said he looked like he was paddling out [2^nd collage bottom right pic.]  It’s gonna be a fun summer swimming with our boy!

Sunday we went to Heroes for lunch and Gus gave Tater a pickle- and boy o boy did he LOVE that!  He mowed 1/2 of it down and was saying "mmm mmm mmm!"

PHEW!! That was a lot! Since we had so many things to celebrate and the WHOLE family was together we decided we needed a huge family photo. Each family pod chose a color and we had 1 huge picture taken and lots of little family pics too! I only got a few shots with my camera but here is the Martinez side with my brothers and sister’s family pods, and the first time my parents have had ALL grandchildren and 1 great grandchild in 1 picture! {I sure hope someone got a better shot than me}

Mike and April chose yellow as their color and Mike cruised out in typical Mike style....he wore a chicken suit, love that guy!!!  And you can tell Gus and Doc were meant to be BFF's they had the SAME Volcom shirt, so funny.

Tater skipped 2 naps but was so good all day playing with his cousins and getting lots of love from his family.  He finally snuggled down on me around 5pm for a quick snoozer.  I love those cuddle times!

After our long day what did we do?  What we ALWAYS do when we get togther, brothers and sisters night out!  Grandma and Grandpa watched the AZ kids and Christi's mom watched the CA kids and the big kids went out to the new Buffalo Wild Wings in Brea.  We had a great time laughing, reminiscing and toasting to our family.  Thanks for a fun night out, I wish you all lived closer so we could do it more often (no the patron tho, I can go with out that LOL).

Playdate with Ryle

This morning we got to have a fun playdate with Ryle! We had breakfast, played cars, read books, and made up silly words together! At one point Ryle got my Iphone and was snapping away at random things, he got that great face shot of Tater below.  Tater had a fun time laughing with his cousin and chasing after the dog. Ryle said to Tater "when it's summer we are going to go to Disneyland!"

 

Frozen Banana

All I had was a frozen piece of banana yesterday and he loved it but was thrown that it was so cold!  Had to tape that little sour puss face :)

Look What I Can Do...

The Foresta Wedding

We had a wonderful weekend in Malibu to celebrate Melissa and Mario’s wedding! They rented a villa on the mountain side and she did everything herself! We left Tay with Grandma early Saturday morning and headed to Malibu to hang out with the gang and get last minute details together. It was a beautiful windy day and we hung out and talked and made sure the catering company was all set when they arrived to set up. The guys played basketball while the girls played beauty parlor. When the ceremony started Gus dropped my camera so almost all photos were stolen from FB (new camera on the budget now).

It was a beautiful ceremony where they recited their own vows and brought tears to everyone’s eyes. They did a new unity ceremony that I had not seen yet; it was a wine box with a fancy bottle in it with letters hand written to each other that morning. They each put a nail in it to seal it and sometime down the road when times are tough and they need a reminder they will open it read each other’s letters and share the wine to remember exactly how much they loved each other on this very day. Or as Mel put it- in a week or 2 when they want the wine hahaha! It has been so much fun this past 5 years watching their love grow and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for them, especially the Foresta babies!

No detail was left out, they had their names lit in the pool, a photo booth, bubbles, great food, and my favorite cake pops! Mario works for New Era and he made fedora hats for all his groomsmen (I got one too woo hoo) and Dodger hats for all the guests and they all have MM52811 stitched in them. Melissa had pashminas for all the girls in silver, navy and cream; which were life savers as soon as the sun went down because it was FREEZING!

We danced until 2am and then finally headed upstairs to bed, we spent the night at the villa with the wedding party, some of whom (the bride and groom included) were up till 4am!. We had a wonderful night, made lots of new friends, and great memories. Congrats Forestas, we so happy for you and we love you, thank you for letting us be a part of your special day!
