The Foresta Wedding

We had a wonderful weekend in Malibu to celebrate Melissa and Mario’s wedding! They rented a villa on the mountain side and she did everything herself! We left Tay with Grandma early Saturday morning and headed to Malibu to hang out with the gang and get last minute details together. It was a beautiful windy day and we hung out and talked and made sure the catering company was all set when they arrived to set up. The guys played basketball while the girls played beauty parlor. When the ceremony started Gus dropped my camera so almost all photos were stolen from FB (new camera on the budget now).

It was a beautiful ceremony where they recited their own vows and brought tears to everyone’s eyes. They did a new unity ceremony that I had not seen yet; it was a wine box with a fancy bottle in it with letters hand written to each other that morning. They each put a nail in it to seal it and sometime down the road when times are tough and they need a reminder they will open it read each other’s letters and share the wine to remember exactly how much they loved each other on this very day. Or as Mel put it- in a week or 2 when they want the wine hahaha! It has been so much fun this past 5 years watching their love grow and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for them, especially the Foresta babies!

No detail was left out, they had their names lit in the pool, a photo booth, bubbles, great food, and my favorite cake pops! Mario works for New Era and he made fedora hats for all his groomsmen (I got one too woo hoo) and Dodger hats for all the guests and they all have MM52811 stitched in them. Melissa had pashminas for all the girls in silver, navy and cream; which were life savers as soon as the sun went down because it was FREEZING!

We danced until 2am and then finally headed upstairs to bed, we spent the night at the villa with the wedding party, some of whom (the bride and groom included) were up till 4am!. We had a wonderful night, made lots of new friends, and great memories. Congrats Forestas, we so happy for you and we love you, thank you for letting us be a part of your special day!

You're Hired!

At lunch today Tay got to play receptionist!  He had fun listening to the tone and pressing the buttons.  How could I not take pics?!  O and we have officially found his nickname, he's been called Bubba, Bug a Boo, Big Boy, but since these are all very common names we wanted something special for our boy, so by accident Gus came up with
Tater Tot
Perfect!

Veggies

Taylor is ready for food so instead of doing the baby food purees I decided to do Baby-Led Weaning. It’s a method surrounding the idea that a breastfed baby will eat when they are ready to eat. It follows the path of letting them touch real food and experiment with it as much as possible and what gets in their mouth gets in! They don’t like the idea of spoon fed cereals but I figure we need to go ½ way with this. Tay gets oatmeal in the morning, a veggie at lunch time and rice cereal at dinner with 5 nursing sessions in between (he’s still on a good schedule). He loves this new adventure! Soon I will be able to throw whatever is on my plate on his tray and he can munch away! We tried broccoli last week and it was OK, it kinda fell apart everywhere so this weekend we did zucchini and he loved it. Next we are moving on to avocado, sweet potato, then bananas.

Coca

No he's not trying to kiss him....he's doing COCA!!!

Gramma Nicky taught all her grandkids to do “coca” and knock foreheads together. So we say “coca coca coca” and Tay bumps his forehead to yours, so when he met Little Rey after a few smiles he bumped his forehead to Rey’s to say Coca! It was so cute. Rey is 8 days older than Tay and let’s just say after all the comparison photos and stories…. my kid’s a TRUCK!!!

Luke's 1st Birthday Shell-abration!

Doc and Maria's baby boy turned 1! It was a turtle themed party which included actual turtles! Taylor had a wonderful time laughing and clapping with all his cousins and finally passed out in daddy's arms around 5pm. He was a trooper!  My Uncle Clem and Aunt Marilyn brought their new puppy Jaxon to meet the family and he is the sweetest thing!

Paul and Kim's Wedding

Paul finally took the leap! Gus and Paul have been friends since they were 9 years old and Gus had the pleasure of standing with him as he wed his beautiful bride Kim. They got married at the LA Equestrian Center and the weather was beautiful. We had a fun night dancing and hanging out with all our friends! Wendy styled me up with some BEAUTIFUL Stella and Dot, can't wait to add more to my collection!

Mother's Day 2011

I had 1 request for my 1st Mother’s Day, DISNEYLAND!!! We woke up early and had breakfast and got ready for a brunch at Ray and Christi’s with the family before we headed out to the park. We got there a little late in the afternoon but it was nice and cool for a quick family trip! We cruised thru ToonTown for dinner and to say hello to Mickey (he LOVED Taylor) then off to FantasyLand for some rides. I was so excited to ride rides all together and we went on Mr. Toads, Pinocchio and the Carousel. Even tho it was Tay's 3rd trip to the park we got him a 1st time visitor's button (because all the other times they were out) and as we strolled out of the park he fell asleep and I got the cutest picture of him concked out with his button. I can’t wait to go back to take him on more rides, especially Pirates and Small World!!!

And after a long day of family and fun I got to sit with my feet up and cuddle with my other kiddos the twins, and a glass of vino of course!
