Murphey's Law Wekend

I had every intention of surviving a PACKED weekend and ended up trying to survive the flu. Friday I calmed a screaming baby that was getting over the flu (because for some reason no one else would calm her so I had to do it) and guess what, yep, the flu got me. Murphy’s Law was kicking in big time and also strapped us with a broken water pump in Gus’ work truck which had us out $500 and a almost a whole days work for him. By the time he got home Friday night it was so late and he was so tired that we had to bail on the W2 barbeque and crashed early. I am SOOOOO bummed I missed seeing Wendy but extremely glad I didn’t go and get her sick!

Saturday I was suposed to get a haircut (canceled due to water pump) and then go to a Chili Cookoff (also canceled due to lack of $ for water pump) but it still was promising and I spent the day cleaning and organizing the house. Jeff and Erika came over for dinner (dinner out canceled due...o you get it) and then all 4 of us headed to Universal City Walk for “Kevin and Bean's April Foolishness.” Gus and I have been looking forward to this for a year and it was AWESOME!!!!! It’s a charity event for Boarding for Breast Cancer with all these comedians on 1 stage!!!

We had the BEST time and I laughed so hard all night!

Sunday I woke up at 5 am with the tummy churning and then it hit me, it hit me BAD. I know I don’t need to go in to details for ya :) I was laid up on the couch and since we are only 11 weeks along and I was losing fluids fast we called the doctor and they got me in that afternoon. We had to miss Easter with Gus’ family so our holiday was spent in the Dr’s office and on the couch. The only thing I could manage to keep down was chicken broth or water for 24 hours. Monday I was feeling better but really sore and I ached all over but I had to go to work and run payroll since no one there knows how to do it, so I spent the morning in my office with the door shut and got it done. After that I went home and slept and by 5 pm felt much better. I knew I was feeling better when all I wanted was Oreos so my wonderful hubby ran to the store and got me Oreos and Tomato Soup for dinner (my hero).

We survived and a big middle finger to you Murphy’s Law!!!!!
